A deadly Business – (In Section Pg 3)
Q1a) What are the 2 worrying trends about drug trafficking mentioned in the article?
Q1b) Why are Singaporeans increasingly being used as “drug mules”?
Q2) What will you do if you find out that one of your friends is selling drugs? How will you react if someone tries to sell you drugs?
Answers:
Q1a) First worrying trends are the increasingly number of Singaporeans are being arrested for drugs crime overseas. Second worrying trends are mostly young peoples are the one who sell drugs not the adults and also punishment of selling the drugs.
Q1b) Singaporeans increasingly being used as drug mules because Singaporeans does not require a visa for many places and are seldom checked due to Singapore’s reputation for being tough on drugs.
Q2) If one of my friends is selling drugs I will have a talk with him/her. I would try to advise her to stop selling the drugs to others. If she does not hear my advised, I would inform the teacher or ask her to go for counseling.
I would firmly say no and walk away if someone tries to sell drugs to me. If it was my friend selling to me and still disturbing me, I will threaten him/her that I will inform the teachers even though he/she is my friend because have a drug in possession is already a crime. If it was a stranger still trying to sell to me, I will try to threaten him by saying I will calling the police.
